What is direct primary care (DPC)?

Learn about our medical business model.

Updated over a week ago

DreamCloud Psychiatry operates as a Direct Primary Care (DPC) provider, meaning we do not bill insurance and instead offer care through a flat monthly membership.

DPC is a modern, evidence-based healthcare model that fosters a direct, personal relationship between patient and provider—without the barriers and delays of traditional insurance billing. This allows providers to spend more time focusing on patients and less time on administrative paperwork.

Because we’re not limited by insurance rules, DreamCloud is able to deliver care quickly and conveniently using tools that patients already use every day—like email, secure messaging, text, live chat, and telemedicine video visits. These digital platforms are often not reimbursed by insurance companies, despite being clinically effective and more accessible for patients.

At DreamCloud, we believe this tech-enabled, patient-first model leads to faster, more flexible, and more cost-effective care. Our goal is to make high-quality psychiatric treatment feel seamless, supportive, and personalized.
